Good Friday.

Good Friday has dawned bright and beautiful. We walk with the cross into the village and along the quay where boats are arriving and leaving and hundreds of people are gathered. The visitors sing hymns with us and for many it's a good day out.
In the old days , tradition had it in the north that Good Friday was for hiking. The Unitarians did it and we travelled far afield. One I'd become an Anglican the hiking was out of course but the walk of witness was a good substitute.
This year we are hoping for strong men to turn up....the cross is very heavy!
I am contemplating taking a walking stick.....there's nothing wrong with my legs but my balance is shaky to say the least. I do not want to be thought doddery even if I am but the stick would keep me upright!
Later David goes into the cathedral and does the entire three hour watch. I went with him once but sitting over such a long time is now too much for me so I shall go to St Just where we have an hour at the cross.....that I can cope with!

Therefor he who shows us God

Tell of what Gods love must be.
It's a day for praying and I include all those I know and all those I do not know.
And I include in that all those who hate. That they might find peace in the Lord.
