Speed .

Everything is so fast these days!  Those of us who grew up in the dark ages can sometimes find it a bit bewildering but on the whole my reaction to any news spreading like wildfire is amazement, followed by gratitude.
On the day before I took ill I bumped into an old friend....told him about my book and there this morning, two days later,  it had gone live!  I am useless at providing links to things......there are limits,  but he had provided a link to the book, plus another link to the blog on his online bulletin ....The Roseland Magazine!
In the old days this would have been akin to magic....but I am just staggered by the speed of everything.
This same friend is also trying to get super fast broadband for the Roseland....more power to his elbow on that one too!
The audio book I am currently listening to is "The Once and Future King" by T H White.
He has cleverly mixed up things from our day with medieval times by using Merlins magic....the result is a wonderful story which kept me riveted even when any movement was painful. over the last  couple of days! ..
I am so glad I decided to go with the flow when computers were first becoming popular.....the fact that you are reading this means that you made the same decision..so we are very very lucky people.
Music at a touch, audio books, wonderful photography, all there for the exploring! Its an amazing  research tool which can give us  information about anything under the sun!
The speed at which things can happen is breath taking but the riches it brings to us all on a daily basis is magic......so far away from the times during the war when even a newspaper was an object of desire that I am constantly giving thanks for everything we have now!
Thank you God.

The once and future king is a very good read and was one of my staples in my twenties. In fact anything about King Arthur, dragons and Merlin were grist to my mill.
As for reading on a 'device', that for me, is a step too far.
My brother reads everything on his IPad, I have no idea how so can't explore the possibility, but audio books are a very different thing.
I don't like being read to, so unless I were as as unfortunate as my mother and lost my sight, I would never consider them.
I do admire the way you embrace technology. My approach is super cautious and snail-like.

I love listening to books, read by actors beautifully. It's because Children's Hour was daily listening I think! I still remember the serials and even the music they used. It was a very formative experience I think.
Getting books onto an iPad is easy. Install a Kindle app....then choose what you want...it appears, also like magic!

Oh Jean you make it sound so simple. How do I install a Kindle app?

Go to the app store. At the beginning of your pad. Next to iTunes. Tap in kindle in the search engine. I use yhe one from amazon

Once it's downloaded look for the store sign which will take you to amazon. Or install an ebook app . There's lots of free books to download there.

Thanks Jean. Had a brief try before choir practice, without success. Will try again tomorrow (more time).

Being a poor sleeper I have just bought my first audio book to listen to at night. As much as I love radio 4 the news can get boring, I have tried listening to music (Classic fm) but that's what I do, listen to the music. So will now try the audio. Mind you no idea what to do as yet but no doubt will eventually fathom it.
Also Jean love the watercolour of the church. I love originals on my walls. Either that or photographs. I am sure you will enjoy it.
