Storm.

The storm is now in full swing! For a short while we imagined that we'd escaped the worst but that was the lull before it all advanced screaming upon us.
This is the afternoon our gardener comes to us and we usually send him home in this weather because it's really not fit to work outside right now. David walked up the garden because we couldn't see him. I hoped he was in the shed but no he was out in the thick of it, tying up threatened trees and generally trying to save it all from total disaster!
One tree has been tethered to the hedge for some time and another is getting much the same.
I have carried the trays of annual plugs indoors. The boiler man has put a new thermostat in...because we are freezing!
He observed wryly that the whole system is old! That makes a complete set!
David couldn't stand up on his way to the car!
It's a good job us old dears are made of strong stuff...because everything and everybody in this house is in that category!

Sounds like the downside of the paradise that is your usual domicile.
I've just seen some pictures of the battering Cornwall is taking at present. Not good.
Be safe!

Thanks Ray. It's pretty scary out there.
