This has happened before. You arrange to christen one person and another one decides to join in!
The first time it happened to me was in my first year of being a priest. A young girl came to talk about her wedding and said , no she had not been christened....her parents had left her to decide when she was old enough. There's a lot to be said for that I think....it is better if the candidate has chosen the process happily from their own convictions.
I told the bride to think about it and if she was willing I could give her a quiet Saturday morning service. She agreed and rang me the week after to tell me and then said...."My father in law to be hasn't been done either....could you do him at the same time? "
I did, after talking to them both about what they were signing up to. I have since christened the couples babies....it's odd how it runs in families.
Yesterday I visited the baby I am christening on Sunday. His nan was there and asked about adult baptism. I saw that she was nervous and guessed the reason.
"I've always wanted to be Christened" she said. " I would love to be done at the same time as the baby"
I agreed after talking to her for a little while and off she went to get two Godparents!
I think we may have a packed church on Sunday.....everyone in their road knows now!
It is a pity that the service is filled with antiquated language....but I can deal with that. Hopefully.

My Christening and Confirmation took place at Easter 2010.
I was 75 and shared the occasion with a dozen or so others whose ages ranged from about 5 years old to my ancient level.
Although everyone enjoyed the occasion, I doubt any of the younger people had my overwhelming sense of joy at finally 'coming home'.
For me the antiquated language was an additional bonus, so who knows Jean. Maybe your 'extended family' will enjoy it too.
I have no doubt that she will!
