Demob day.

I'm not sure but I think I may be experiencing the calm before the storm thingy! Yesterday David had his pacemaker fitted. Today he's coming home!

In the past I have rescued people from the village who needed a lift home from hospital. I remember hours of waiting, first for their discharge papers and then for the tablets to be issued. It took all day to get one man home!

Yesterday I talked to the staff nurse about hoping it wouldn't take too long. She said she would ring me when it was almost time......but I am a good hours drive away plus the ferry!

Sainsburies are delivering this morning! Just in case I need to get away I have someone here helping to accept delivery! The whole thing is taking on the status of a military manoeuvre. This is increased by David joking yesterday about being got ready for his demob! That will show you how old he is....he still remembers the first time! I have seen the photos of a very dashing young officer smiling at his release!

This homecoming will not be quite the same but I have a bottle of white wine in the fridge! If he can't drink it I know someone who can! Ahem!

I hope it all goes without a hitch Jean. Enjoy your wine (even if you do have to share it).

I hope that all goes well, and that David is able to be home with all his comforts, particularly you :)

[*] prayers that you both are able to resume your normal, stately life style and be able to enjoy what remains of the summer :)

Incredibly the phone rang about 9.30. It was easy, all was indeed ready and we are home in time for lunch! What a relief.....thank you so much!
