Like most people I am already fed up with the images, sales pitches and all the paraphanalia that goes with Christmas these days. I am an old woman I know but lately I got a whole lot older fast and the rate at which Christmas is galloping up to us is really quite worrying! This morning for instance I lay in bed thinking about the new Christmas tree which arrived yesterday, wondering how I was going to get it out of its packaging intact!
Then I looked at the date! It's not even December yet...though it will be Advent tomorrow....
It's too soon to be even thinking about decorations so I won't!
But I am downloading the Advent Calender on my laptop!
Today is the official start of the St Mawes party season. David and I will not be going to most things but we are invited out to lunch today! It will be a largish group of people who we know well and who know David is ill. I just hope they are ready for the change in him.....and I'm not talking about fraility or anything like that. It's just that the steroids have rounded up his face and he is eating for Britain!
I have never seen him eat like he is now....apparently we can blame that on the steroids too!
So dressing the halls with holly and ivy are not yet underway....but the party season is. Hope we survive it!
