Glimmers of light!

The weather is helping. This spell of glorious weather has brought out all the blossom. Camellias, azaleas, apple and pear trees are in full and glorious bloom.
The church yard is looking wonderful. I walked yesterday along the banks of the creek on a path which was dangerously slippy a week ago, now thankfully dry!
In church I met a person last spoken to 25 years ago....she said I hadn't changed a bit! Some people lie well!
The really good news though is that I've dropped a dress size. I got fed up with every skirt hanging round my hips and ordered a new one to fit...and even that's got plenty of room in it.....so it's not all bad news...
My contribution to the seriously exhausting round of services we undertake every major festival is to do the early morning communion tomorrow....
This I know I can manage....and the glory all around will also be in church, dressed for Easter and reflecting the joy in all our hearts, even mine...
Later we are booked into one of the great hotels along the coast for lunch...
It won't be an ecstatic day....but it will do justice to the risen Christ...with the odd tear thrown in to be realistic...
But I am getting on with the things that were important to David and me... I know he will be with me in spirit.......so I carry on . God willing.

  1. I have just realised belatedly that the first David died on this day in 1997. Oddly this fact contributes to the knowledge that the pain does lessen with time!
