Pain.

I hurt today....a lot! Physical pain is not something I'm really used to, having been fit and active for most of my life but today after far too much walking yesterday my muscles are protesting....especially my hips.....

I am not going to turn into one of those miserable old women who enjoy a good grouse....I have taken the tablets and resolved to keep moving whenever possible...once I'm better!

I have been out and rescued the two baby toads from the little bath they enjoy so much....it's now so deep that they are in danger of drowning. Once they're in they can't get out!

I've brought the dustbins in , the dustcart comes early on Mondays....

If I lie down I don't hurt but that way lies danger.....keeping on the move with gritted teeth is my only option I think...

I clearly need a dog to get me moving...Crispin would have had none of it....he was still walking in very advanced old age....but I think I'm too old for a dog now and I also have plans to leave the country this winter so that's not the solution....

Painkillers can help as does a wee dram....

Get Thee behind me Satan.....once you've passed the bottle......

Tut tut Jean. Such flagrant wickedness. After all, I've never been known to touch a drop (mostly because there isn't time to touch it before I down it in one)
I also have been having a lot of pain from arthritic joints lately, sadly worse at night, so have every sympathy.
You are right of course, the only possible way to cope is to just get on and do it.
As someone (don't know who), so rightly said, "Old age ain't for wimps".

I wonder if your muscles are just protesting about unaccustomed exercise. Keep it up you'll soon be fit and limber with a svelte figure and be able to consider entering Strictly Come Dancing :)

Pop a large stone or some pebbles in one end of the bath so they can hop out.
