Tick tock!

Not quite out of the wood yet.....It's still only half past six!
I have a fairly early communion this morning and the clocks went back last night....normally this would not be a problem...I left all that to David naturally....
Despite the fact that now most things attached to the electricity seem to reset themselves I found myself anxious when I went to bed. I remained anxious all night, waking up every hour to check the clocks as well as the computers...
In the old days after the first David died it became a badge of honour to keep all the clocks ticking...grandfather, wall clocks, carriage and small standing clocks all had to be dealt with...time was one of David's things...and it took time especially those clocks that chimed...
Now most of those clocks just look pretty, they don't tick after several house moves...
It's all electronic now....so why did I get so anxious?
Fear of not getting up in time for the service is the main answer....lack of confidence in myself is another...
But the good news after a trip downstairs is that the heating clock has joined in the change...I am sure everything else will follow suit, all I have to do is stay awake now!

  1. The anxiety about time is something I have experienced too, but not in the last few years,
My way of solving the time-change night is to ignore it completely and let my normal body-clock take over. In the morning I check one clock by the BT phone clock and then adjust all the others from that one.
OK so I don't get an extra hour in bed but what is that in the scheme of things.

    1. It appears that I'm not the only one...thanks for that....
People here are also joining in...I've had two calls already to make sure I'm up and moving in the right direction!
