Renewal!

In a week the garden has had a transformation! Beautiful buds are lined along branches that looked dead a week ago!

The hellebore are the current stars of the show but yesterday to my amazement I found a pink rose out! It's tiny but beautiful.

I don't know if it was the last rose of the summer or the first rose out this year!

Renewal is wonderful...each Autumn we see the dying off of much loved plants . The winter when in the north the gardens looked bare and dead never really happens here..winter lacks credibility in Cornwall!

The camellias have been in flower since before Christmas..and are now in their full glory.

The dieback does happen but not all at the same time!

Inevitably I find myself wishing that the same system held good for people...and that after a period of inactivity we spring back to our former vigour and beauty....

These thoughts are not gloomy mostly but as happens most years I do find myself becoming interested in the idea of reincarnation.

This would be the human equivalent of coming back to life after a mini death!

I banish any such notions fairly quickly but still.....

Us Christians don't hold with such esoteric notions ...but sometimes, usually in Spring they make complete sense! Ahem.

It's the Spring equinox Jean. You'll be fine again soon. (I hope):-)

We can be reincarnated spiritually by spring, particularly by Easter. Renewed and reinforced in faith and belief to go out into the harvest and sow and reap.

And if the spirit is strong, hopefully the body will perk up along with it.

I love the Spring and like yours my garden is Springing back to life. This year is tinged with an overwhelming sense of sadness as Ron isnt here to enjoy it. He was my biggest fan and loved my efforts in the garden. I find great comfort this year in gardening still doing it for Ron
