Up and down the garden!

Waking up to bright sunshine and a warm house I give thanks. Yesterday I walked my garden as I do every day and marvelled at the renewed life evident everywhere.
The shrubs are in glorious flower. All three horsechestnuts have their erect candles glowing so this year we will have even more conkers than last year! Tiny green cherries are growing fatter daily. I remembered to protect the gooseberries just in time to stop them being eaten. The apple trees are also looking wonderfully productive.
When we moved here nine years ago we had a field which had been cow pasture twenty years ago. Now thanks to the lovely path which David put in during the last months of his life we have a garden!
The wild flower garden is full of poppies, daisies, buttercups and plantain....the bees are buzzing everywhere! There is do much to be thankful for and this year , my tears shed and my laughter heard once again I am very grateful to all those who have helped me through the dark times to come into the light. Alleluia!

Your garden looks wonderful Jean and you are so right about the path. Truly beautiful.
My wilderness would fit into your garden about 8 times by the look of it but is rapidly losing the fight against the invading army of weeds.
I really will have to get some help - the main problem with that being the desire of every so-called gardener I have so far met to prune and cut back (which I can still do fairly easily), but not ever to weed !

Look lovely. Have you thought about opening a retreat house.

Good luck with that one! It's taken me many years to stop my gardener from up rooting every wild flower that pushes up its head!
