An anniversary to celebrate!

The epic wedding on Saturday was notable for several things as well as the intervention of the registrar.....it brought me face to face with many old friends not seen for years!
Today I celebrate my arrival here....it was July 13 in millennium year so I've been here for fifteen years today!
I already knew a lot of people. This was where the first David died and many of the people who helped me then came to the wedding....I greeted one lady with the words to another , "I have known her for even longer than I've known you!' She then worked it out to at least forty years....
The last fifteen years have been the best of my life . That they were also the worst is very weird...Going into the church and marrying David ran counterpoint to losing my children .
The blessings have been very many.
It is still the best thing I've ever done. Living here, leading worship, helping those who need it is a massive privilege and one I will never take for granted...
Growing old in a much loved place is just wonderful....as I wandered around my garden yesterday it was the fruit that took my attention. Raspberries, gooseberries and blue berries are on small bushes...
In the trees are apples, pears cherries and plums...all growing well...the Autumn should be busy!
Having things to look forward to is equally important ...I have a holiday coming up...
I hope the next 15 years go as fast as the last....if I live that long.... Alleluia.

It sounds as though you too have landed in the right place Jean. I thank God daily for the fact that we came here 35 years ago, even though at the time it was expediency and financial constraints which made the decision.
At least that is what I tell myself.
On reflection maybe God decides which place will help us to grow and ensures we end up there.
