Which switch?

Every day brings a new challenge....which I suppose I ought to be grateful for....it would not be good to sink into a somnolent comfortable existence....erm....

Yesterday was busy...and I forgot about the foot until it was time to go to bed. It is very much easier to live with today which is just as well because I may have to do a bit of climbing!

I have Western Power coming to put me in a new meter and a box cover on the outside of the house. The banging of the old one on windy days has been very annoying for years!

They told me I would have to turn the electricity off whilst they worked. And there lies today's problem....

In this ancient farmhouse there are three seperate boxes all equipped with their own on and off switches...

David was over six foot....he could reach most of them easily.... I can't.

I don't do step ladders either these days...so I will have to play helpless female yet again...

This is I'm afraid becoming the norm rather than just an occasional retreat into old age.....

We can start with the big box near the back door and work our way upwards...

It's on these occasions when I am tempted to shamble about a bit...I don't look too decrepit so I am hoping for a pleasant, helpful chap or two....I've got the teapot out!

I have been known to use the 'old lady' card on similar occasions.
While not exactly vertically challenged I was still 11 inches shorter than John's 6.4".
He merely reached up a long arm and dealt with all those 'where'e the ladder'? occasions.
Nowadays if I really can't manage I do a good 'helpless'.
Good luck with your switch problems.
