Wonderful day!

Gosh. It's been a very good day! Setting out this morning I went out to a small village called Cavtat. It was utterly beautiful...and actually not unlike St Mawes in that it was sea and boats with small cafes providing coffee whilst sitting in the morning sun!

Two church's there conspired to make my day . The first held a small altar on which I was able to light a candle for my friend Julia whose funeral I had to miss last week!

The second had a large picture over the altar. It was a painting of a beach with mountains in the background....clearly a local scene. On the beach stood Christ holding a small child! I supplied the words, "suffer the little children"

This set the tone for the rest of the day....the old town which had been bombed badly in the war was rebuilt...it looked as if it had been there for centuries..a great tribute to the human spirit which with the two church's earlier absolutely made my day.

On returning to the ship I had lunch, went to watch the sail away and then had a grappa with one of my new friends...

I am enjoying myself!
