Arriving home yesterday all sorts of small domestic problems lay in wait for me. Slowly , one by one they got sorted out....
This morning the sun is out...the garden looks wonderful and the world seemed a good place again...until I turned on the radio!
What on earth has been happening whilst I was off eating lotus?
Football riots, an appalling shooting in California, politicians forecasting the end of the world as we know it!
Did I leave England and return to a parallel universe?
The last thing we needed this summer was Brexit surely? None of the debates I have heard on this subject have come even close to changing my view that we really didn't need it right now. Politicians of all sides are coming out of this badly...lies, exaggerations, dire warnings and badly disguised attempts by ambitious politicians to become the next prime minister...
Chaos reigned on the last days of my cruise and it seems to exist too all over this small island as we get closer to the date for making a crucial decision that will affect all of our futures whether we go or stay.
The rhetoric used in the last week alone suggests that reputations are being ruined for ever, what ever is decided and I fear for the aftermath of this referendum.
Too many insults, promises, predictions and lies have been broadcast...
Please God let us all come to our senses soon!

I agree with you. I admit to being a cynic as far as politicians are concerned and the Brexit debate has done nothing but reinforce that view. A bunch of self-serving people whose partisanship is breath taking.
