Cars with memories.....

My  car came home last evening after a whole day in the garage....it came home gleaming and beautiful complete with its MOT and its annual service done!
The message is one I'm used to....I have to get out more!
I admit that I have become very reluctant to drive far...I have a lovely young taxi driver who carries me around if it's a longish drive...
The mystery as to why Michael's car refused to start for me last month was revealed yesterday.
Apparently it knew by the way I sat that I was the wrong person....it was an anti theft device...
Crumbs...when I think of all the rude things I said about Japanese cars I have to now eat my words....I had no idea that such a thing as bottom recognition existed!
I don't think my Merc has it...it's certainly never refused to start because it's me...at least I don't think it has!
Cars have become much more sophisticated than my original much loved first car. My ancient Wolsey of hallowed memory could still be started by a cranking handle...
I knew how to take its battery out, dry off its plugs and get it started on icy mornings....
The engine of my present car looks like no other engine I've ever had...and the battery is kept under the drivers seat!
In my angst filled life right now having a car I can depend on is important...I would just weep if it failed to start...
I doubt if me weeping would do the trick...
So this morning I need to go off.....onto roads full of summer visitors..the only good thing is that we are all going very slowly...
Slowly suits me right now...and my bottom is the right one for this car!

Some day quite soon cars will start taking us where THEY want to go, then it will be time to take to feet again.
It is just as I suspected a few years ago. 'things' are taking over the world.

I've never heard of a car being sensitive to different bottoms? But the type of car that I drive is El Cheapo, 2nd Hand and battered about with wear and tear. As long as it goes, I don't mind what it looks like. And bottom recognition isn't among it's add ons :)
