Gassing!

A beautiful day, glorious Spring flowers , the sun is shining and all the news is of horror and hate.
The gassing in Syria of so many people and children is so awful that it's hard to imagine the mind that thinks it's justified.
There was a reason why using gas in warfare more or less stopped after the First World War. If it was used after that we wouldn't have known about it.
Gas is a killer. If it doesn't kill immediately the survivors have to live with the consequences for the rest of their lives.
My grandad died fifty years after his gassing , struggling for breath, coughing up flem and choking .
The effects of being gassed stayed with him all through his life with periodic bouts of bronchitis and pneumonia. I was with him when he died. It was a hard death.
The thought of it being used again now in cold blood is simply horrifying.
Accidental gassing can happen I know but this was a deliberate act.
Passing laws, sending resolutions condemning this attack is already happening...and it is good that many European countries and the USA are in total agreement in condemning it.
But this can lead to other acts of war.
Another nuclear bomb exploded into the sea near Japan by North Korea is also adding to the general feeling of horror in the world.
Once more I pray....it really is all we can do.
