Scary news!

Today I am going to a pensioners lunch. I am trying not to feel depressed by that title.
As I listen to the news coming in I am struck once again by how ghastly the world has now become.
Brexit and all it's problems dominates this country but the really awful news is that North Korea seems intent on demonstrating its ability to start world war three!
The latest ballistic missile is said to be able to get as far as Alaska!
Japan is complaining and who could blame them?
Every attempt to stop this just seems to make Kim Jong-un more determined to show off his toys.
Trump and Putin will meet this week and I shudder to think of what they will discuss in the light of this latest news.
Trumps decision to pull out of the Paris agreement looks almost tame now compared to what's happening in the rest of the world but that is still being questioned.
Here in this country we have the aftermath of the last election which is interesting but scary when I hear the confident voice of Gove debating our next steps into the unknown.
The pensioners lunch will be a safe haven compared to all of this where we can relax and enjoy each other's company safe in Cornwall.
I doubt that any of this will be discussed..........planning the next pantomime seems to be centre stage at the moment!
I may later find comfort via the tennis at Wimbledon...that seems safe!
