Like all Maigret novels, lots of darkness, played out in a very 'off the time' way. Keeping it in period is so much more realistic than updating it for modern times.

I can't think what Maigret would do with an Ipad or Google, his pipe seems sufficient for him to work things out.UKViewerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18114944341930758335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8137857716187567509.post-320609711904108882016-03-28T10:10:42.843-07:002016-03-28T10:10:42.843-07:00Have you not go Iplayer on you iPad?Have you not go Iplayer on you iPad?Babshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13046903846052307815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8137857716187567509.post-76108221947213537642016-03-28T08:49:38.483-07:002016-03-28T08:49:38.483-07:00I missed Happy Valley.....it started when I was aw...I missed Happy Valley.....it started when I was away and I never caught up.....I can always get the DVD I suppose. I think it was called "The little drummer girl" or something similar.
The cold war stories are my favourites and i have long been a fan of Len Deighton and Ted Aldbury too.
The BBC so often comes up with the goods. Well done them.Ray Barneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09209429097744326143noreply@blogger.com
