Swallows

I've been to church twice today. The first time was to do the mid week communion. We had to clear up the mess in the porch before we started. A swallow had built her nest in the corner and the babies had hatched. At the next event we had a lot of people there for a madrigal concert given by music students from Bristol uni. They come every year and are very popular. The baby swallows were much in evidence. Around six heads with mouths wide open were waiting for mum. She swooped in and out regardless of all the people. The strange thing was that they were making no sound. Perhaps they found it impossible to compete with the madrigals.
