85 and not out.

Davids birthday today so we were slow moving to start with. We attended a lecture on life in an Embassy which we mostly slept through and then I went to the ecumenical service taken by the Captain. Instead of one of the lessons we had a trombone player giving a very good rendition of Swing low
sweet chariot.
I had failed to get a hymn sheet but found I knew all of the hymns so was able to join in.
Later we are meeting friends for drinks and we might even open one of the bottles of fizz they had left for us in our cabin. Tonight I have ordered drinks for the people on our table and then all the waiters will bring David a birthday cake and sing happy birthday to him. He loves that.
And he deserves it. It's not every day you reach 85!

Congratulations! Just think what sized cake you'll need when he reaches 95. Better start saving for it now!
Have a lovely evening.
