More from Henley

All sports seem to develop their own language. Sitting listening to the man talking on the loud speaker is fascinating.
He is describing the races and where the boats are as they progress.
It's not possible to see the whole race without a bike so sitting fairly close to the end seems like a good bet.
His descriptions are varied. They win by a length or variations on that theme
Occasionally though a word pops up that I've never heard before in a boating context.
Some one has just won by a canvas. This is the cloth on the front of the boat. If they win by a blade it's very close.
Sometimes though it's a win by a very considerable distance.
These are the ones I clap.
They need to know that someone appreciates them.
