As I get ready to drive through rain, hail, flood and storm force winds.....its actually not as bad as that here.... but I am returning to the village where I drove into flood waters on a previous visit and it has been raining very hard all night!
A poem by Bonhoeffer is going through my head....it feels very appropriate after the last weeks unhappinesses.
With every power for good
to stay and guide me
Comforted and inspired beyond all fear
I"ll live these days with you in thought beside me
And pass, with you, into the coming year.
While all the powers of good aid and attend us
Boldly we'll face the future, come what may
At even and at noon God will befriend us
And oh, most surely on each newborn day.
These are only two verses...there are more , but these say what I want to say but much more eloquently. Shortly after writing that Bonhoeffer was killed but his words live on. Thank you God.
