Standards sliding....

I am turning into a slob! It's not confession time, it's true!

I still have my lunch at the dining table but at night I take a tray upstairs to eat supper watching the television. Its company....I have yet to send it up on the chair lift. There is a sense of achievement in getting the tray to the top without spilling the soup!

So last night I settled down with the tray on my knee and the whole lot did a very neat flip and my plate ended face down on the carpet!

After groaning I hurried off to get cleaning clothes etc and then realised that I was hungry...I did not want to start all over again. Could it be saved? Well yes it could. It was prawns in a cheesy sauce with sliced potatoes. I carefully scraped the whole lot up and put it back on my plate before swabbing the carpet with a wet towel.

Oh Crispin my golden where were you when I needed you?

I looked at the inelegant mess on my plate...and ate it...I really was hungry! And I am now officially a slob...

I take it of course that the carpet was exceedingly clean :)

Well of course.

Maybe I should add that the meal had been in the oven for an hour and was pretty solid. The crispy cheesy topping made it much easier than if it had been a real mess. And of course all my floors are very clean!
