We are now in the last few days of this cruise. It has been a very interesting cruise both in our visits and what is happening in the world, especially the Trump news as it breaks.
The news channels on board have had many interviews with the various people involved in the West Wing news outlets.
They are not all anti Trump...there have been some interesting exchanges, especially after Trumps speech to the UN.
Sides are being taken. The Russian story has not been forgotten. Muellers role seems to widen daily but he seems safe from being fired by the president.
This week many voices have been raised after the UN speech which has been described as a war warning. The journalists are divided by those who think Trump's threats to North Korea are justified and these who find the notion of nuclear war very frightening for the world.
Trumps tweets are a feature every day and they are indeed very scary.
All of this is against the background of the destruction caused by the hurricanes and natural disasters in the Caribbean.
The world seems a very dangerous place just now.
"Who will speak truth to power?" Is the question most heard...no clear answer emerges...but surely there are people involved who can find ways through this extraordinary period of trying to get rid of Obamacare at the same time as stopping the war rhetoric from escalating into action.
