World angst!

The world seems to be going through the start of a political earthquake. Trump’s visit to see Putin must have worried everyone.
He seemed to be paying court to him.
I suspect that on returning to the White House he may have a lot of questions to answer.
Here at home the government also is in trouble by all accounts.
Brexit is fast becoming a dirty word.
Resignations have left Mrs May rather short of loyal henchmen and women.
I can’t remember a time when the entire world seemed to be struggling.
The number of people left stateless by war are finding doors closed to them after travelling hundreds of miles across land and sea .
In America the children separated from their parents at the border are still alone not knowing if and when they might see their parents again.
Here the party that promises to cut the numbers of immigrants looks set to win. Our sympathy, our care seems diluted by the sheer weight of numbers involved and here in Cornwall well away from the main problem areas we are mostly untouched by this problem. But our hearts and minds are involved.
The world we now live in seems light years away from the one we grew up in.
The summer of sport we are promised may help a little...but the main problems remain with us.
Our very busy season is almost upon us.....and we welcome our visitors with fairly open arms...
But I pray for the rest of the world whilst feeling gratitude that here we feel safe...and then I try not to feel smug or self congratulatory .
Lord hear our prayer.
