Rio

Beautiful, stunning Rio. We chose the right option for us today by taking a ride on an old wooden boat right round the harbor. There was an awning and a breeze. Perfect. There was so much to see, it would anyone a month at least. The old mixed with the new in a very satisfying way. Ancient churches and modern art galleries. All very photogenic.
Our girl courier talked us through the drive through the city by telling us that they pay too much tax! Sounded familiar!
Apparently any property deals near the harbor incur an extra tax the proceeds of which is halved. One half goes to the Catholic Church and the other to the Portuguese Royal Family!
It would never catch on here.
The temperature is now in the nineties. And it's humid so staying in the shade is important especially if like me you are still coughing.
