Just back from the eight am communion....gosh it's beautiful down there !
The creek was filled with water...complete with a couple of waders fishing. Birds not boys!
I was reminded of the time in the winter when the fog was so thick that it took me half an hour to do a five minute trip.
It was very different this morning.
Apart from the sun.
Far be it from me to complain about the sun.....except when it's early morning and it's very low in the sky.
Following the birth of my daughter fifty odd years ago I had a very small stroke.
The only symptom left from that period is the lack of reflex in my eyes!
In full sun my pupils stay open! They don't close to keep the sun out! So it can be quite painful at times.
My answer is to keep my eyes closed but that's not possible when I'm driving...clearly.
I had sun glasses with me and they help but not enough!
Several early morning runners littered the road thinking they were safe. Mmmm....
By the time I'd driven home with full sun shining through the windscreen my eyes had rebelled...tears were streaming down my face...and it hurt!
But I missed all the runners...I think.
I'd still rather have the sun than the fog but it's a close run thing!

Perhaps reactive lenses would be more suitable. They can be prescribed quite easily and can be fitted into sunglasses. I have used them fora number of years, as I too am often blinded by a high sun and have vision issues which need correction, annually. Reactive lenses have proven to be a boon, as they darken when needed and lighten again when not needed. I find that instances of being blinded by sunlight are now, few and far between. Just a thought.
I've been using reactive specs for years...but they are no defence against full sun in my eyes I am afraid...
