Many of us are getting very fed up with the fallout from Brexit I assume.
Every day there is a new concept, an unusual demand or a declaration of ideology rather than any definite result.
The problem is that any attempt at putting a price on anything is often followed by the words that no one actually knows what the true cost might be.
We just know that everything is going to be expensive.
This period of waiting is not good for us human beings.
We like certainties. We like to know what is going to be asked of us.
Before we commit to anything we find out it’s cost...but now we simply don’t know how much it’s going to be.
Ever since the banks collapsed we have never been told the true cost of anything..especially since RBS was saved and is now owned by the state.
Huge sums of money are often cited in order to get it up and running again but no one really knows, and to be honest when large sums of money are involved it often means very little to me, all those zeroes are just confusing.
It is the same problem with all the estimates of what it’s going to cost us in getting out of Europe.
Great sums of money mean very little to me beyond the realisation that it’s more than my brain is capable of coping with and this I think may be what the leading Brexiteers are relying on.
I am glad the House of Lords are trying to get some sense into our position but I suspect that those politicians pushing their own agendas are muddying up the waters on purpose.
We do need to know what we are preparing to sign up to and also what it’s going to cost us. But hopefully in figures that mean something to us. Please!
