Games!

I play games. When my children were growing we played various games on wet days over the years.
I know that David was puzzled by my game playing...it had never occurred to him that a big part of my time on line was spent playing with people I’ve never met.
One of the reasons for playing is the old rune, "Use it or lose it."
The "it" in that sentence is my brain.
Whilst I can still occasionally beat someone at Scrabble or various card games I am aware that I still have a functioning mind.
Getting forgetful is I am told all part of getting old. And I do sometimes get into trouble for not turning up when I’m supposed to be somewhere...
I now write everything down. My diary is used every day to check that I’m not supposed to be somewhere else.
This seems to be working for me, ever since the day when I forgot a funeral visit and am still living with the consequences.
I can’t honestly say that I shall never forget anything else...but I’m trying....
So if you fancy a game of Scrabble, please feel free to challenge me!
Chess is not one of my talents though my son was very good at it.
Various daft Internet games are on my iPad and I do try to play them most days in the hope of keeping my mind capable of reasoned thinking.
I started to write the story of my life some time ago....but I’m not working too hard on that mostly because if it’s to be a true story it might shock people...
So I stick to my game playing....Scrabble, backgammon, cribbage, gin rummy, all sorts of daft internet designed games, I spend far too much time playing!
But I can still win most of the time!
