A weekend off.

There is no trial by decorator this morning....so I am luxuriating in bed whilst listening to the news.
My heating is working well and the house is warm!
We start stage two of the present job on Monday when two of them will arrive at eight o’clock.
It will take two because there is a very high wall at the top of the stairs and I am relieved that my bloke has seen the problem and will be bringing a mate to tackle it as well as the ladders needed to reach so high.
So I will be outnumbered next week.
That’s fine....just to get the job done will be a huge relief.
Painting the landing the week after will be a doddle after that mountaineering effort.
Tonight I am being taken out for a meal.
There is no shortage of good hotels in St Mawes.
We are very fortunate in having a choice during the winter. Some hotels do close down or operate a much reduced service but it’s very unusual to have a bad experience.
Now I’m retired it gives me the freedom to actually go out on Saturday night. So there are lots of advantages to being a retired priest.
At least that’s what I tell myself sternly most weekends.
