Sunny Day.

Bright sunshine has brought us all out on deck...you see some extraordinary sights on this ship! Very old women...not me of course...I’m talking seriously old....are shedding clothes at an alarming and frightening rate.
The sight is guaranteed to keep me firmly covered!
Several very old people have stopped to chat...this is a very good thing as they are making me feel positively middle aged!
I have actually no need to go out to feel the sun...it is shining directly onto my balcony right now...and it’s warm!
But getting around the ship is all part of the joy of cruising...as is talking to those whose English is as shakey as my French and German...
Previous friends have gone...For the moment I am mostly on my own but as this is what I’m used to at home it’s fine....I can do this...even with my dreadful French!
Human relationships are absolutely fascinating. Witnessing the small disagreements, mounting up the scale to squabbles, to occasional words...makes me aware that there are worse things than being on your own...
But what is really striking is the human determination to enjoy yourself under difficult circumstances.
People with serious walking disabilities inch their way along helped by people even older than they are...
The number of seriously old and infirm members of this community is staggering...but good humour persists!
I am going on shore again this morning...I’m not sure what for...but it’s all good...I think!
