Staying out of danger.

I did have plans for today but as they involve driving around the Roseland I think I may just stay quietly at home.
The weather forecast is for ferociously strong winds. It is a yellow warning I’m told by the app on my iPad.
I have learned to keep my head down on these occasions . There have been days when I have been pinned to my gate and had to turn back into the house with difficulty.
We are used to this here...it’s not unusual but the safest way of dealing with it is to not go out.
I seem to be spending rather a lot of time at home on my own just now but it’s all good....I don’t feel deprived of company.
Becoming an ancient recluse seems fine to me...it’s not something I’m complaining about.
The times when I break away to go on cruises are all part of the general feeling of being fortunate enough to still enjoy life...and I do though on dark, windy days when the rain is battering on the windows I can occasionally be heard growling under my breath.
So I am in the process of making the decision. To drive to the next village to have lunch with a friend in the pub or to stay safely at home and open a bottle of something warming....
Decisions, decisions.
But one that seems to have been made for me.
Listening to the news the advice is not to venture forth. I can do this. Tin hat at the ready. OK!

I clearly made the right decision....the only time I ventured out was to put my bin out....the dustcart arrives very early. The wind grabbed me and the bin and shoved us up against the wall. I abandoned the bin and got back to the door by holding onto anything available...
The bin will wait till next week now. Arghhhh

Good decision. Your one bin is reasonable. We already have three wheelie bins for different waste and 4 boxes, which are eternally blown about and distribute recyling waste along our urban streets.

Now the plan is to give us another two wheelie bins to replace the four boxes. We are fortunate enough to be able to store them in our back garden, but lots do not, and the urban streetscape is marred by brown green or black wheelie bins and piles of boxes parked up in front gardens or even on the street it self.

I suppose the only good news is that those in flats are not affected by wheelie bins etc, they have huge waste skips of different colours to put their waste into. Often asbo types will set them on fire to have the thrill of a fire appliance along to put it out.

You are fortunate to live in the beautiful Roseland where without such luxuries.
