Repulsion!

This is odd...it’s never happened to me before but yesterday I met someone who was oddly repulsive. I actually wanted not to look at him.
I had a conversation with him and just wanted to get away. I’m unlikely to meet him again but it feels very peculiar to be physically affronted by the appearance of a stranger.
The poor man can’t help it. That what I kept telling myself as I edged away from him.
There was no one thing that was wrong it was just that all the pieces didn’t fit together...his speech was fine...but it shouldn’t have been coming out of that face.
It really was a terrible reaction And this morning I am ashamed of it but also surprised. It’s never happened to me before...that the sight of another human face should have had such an instant physical reaction. I almost wanted to run...
Now I’m just being silly...I know that but the reaction was real.
He knew some things about me that he must have got from other people but I found the entire encounter including my being asked about my next cruise very weird.
I’d like to think there was some simple explanation...but any that I can think of includes unpleasant conceptions.
Hopefully we’ll never meet again.......fingers crossed....or something....
Arghhhh!

Ok....I am now feeling bad. There is no chance that he would ever read anything I’ve written...or even come back here again...but I won’t comment on anyone’s appearance ever again......it was just such an unusual reaction!

I could Colin but that would only make me feel better ... a bit ....but I’ve always written honestly and this was an honest reaction which surprised and distressed me...so let it stand...

What you experienced is not unique. Some people just do that by something about their appearance and demenour. You can't help those reactions, and suppressing them might be difficult.

I know one such person, whose appearance repels, but he is the nicest person you could meet. He cares for people and is respected for who he is and what he does.

I suspect the old adage that you "can't judge by appearances" is appropriate in my case and perhaps yours as well.
