I don’t get the Julian Assange thing. I didn’t understand why he was being allowed to live in an embassy whilst joining in several political events by publishing old documents that he had unearthed on the internet. He has contributed several times to various world events, not least the last election of the American president.
Wiki leaks have held centre stage in political events around the world as well as the USA elections.
What he did was weird but the reaction to it is also weird.
I have no strong views on wether he should be allowed to walk free...or go anywhere in the world...I don’t know if he’s even able to support himself where ever he choses to live...
The fact that he has stayed safe in an embassy for years until yesterday is in itself weird.
His contributions to political events got a lot of publicity. Especially his claim to having found hundreds of emails sent by an American presidential candidate during the last election.
It’s all weird but this morning it got weirder.
Mr Corbyn says he should not be handed over to the Americans.
Why?
One headline today proclaimed the view that he could face years in prison facing an allegation of rape.
Mr Trump has shifted his position over night from loving wiki leaks to saying he knows nothing about them.
The way the great and the good are reacting to all this is very very strange....perhaps he has the dirt on all of them....or at least they think he has!
If he has , he obviously used his years of incarceration wisely. A figure to be feared in fact.
But I still don’t really understand it.

Mr A is a criminal, pure and simple.
He used cyber crime methods to hack into government systems, he broke the law, and needs to face up to his crimes. He is portrayed as an Urban Hero, yet is also someone who have allegedly abused women, exerting power over them, due to their awe of him.
If he had nothing to fear either from the Swedish authorities or the USA authorities, why did he jump bail and claim asylum in the Embassy?
If he has a conscience, which I doubt, he should face the courts in Sweden first to be tried for his alleged crimes, than in the USA to face up to his alleged crimes there.
If he is innocent, he has nothing to fear.
It is telling that his own country, Australia, has denied him consular assistance.
Mr Corbyn is showing himself in his true colours when he says that Mr A should not be extradited to the USA, while some of his own MP's have demanded that Mr A goes back to Sweden to face the courts there.
In the end, he has to complete the court process in the UK first, including a possible 12 month prison sentence for jumping bail 7 years ago.
Mr A, abused the hospitality of his Asylum claim, engaging in political activity, so they kicked him out, and even invited the police in to remove him.
Why do we pander to criminals? He should be sent to Sweden after he completes any prison sentence in the UK, but instead, we will hear about his case for months to come.
In the meantime, his friend and ally, Mr Trump who loved what he did, while seeking election, now denies he even knows anything about him, after colluding with him, and using emails from the Hilary Clinton campaign, stolen by Mr A's organisation to help him become President. Two faced man that he is.
