Our visitors!

Thankfully the weather here in Cornwall has not joined in with the rest of the country.  We have had no extreme temperatures and for a couple of days no sunshine either. Today the brightness outside shines through the house.  I have yet to go out so I don’t know how warm it may be but so far it’s been fine.

We are pretty full right now. The roads are very busy indeed. So staying quietly at home looks like a good idea. Several old friends are here right now but as yet we have only exchanged text messages...they all have boats of various sorts . In the past I would have enjoyed a trip out to sea but actually getting on board is my main problem. I can get down the steps in the harbour and step on board but what I can’t do is get from a dingy into a much bigger boat.....my ability to be nimble has gone over the last year so I shall wave  at them from the shore...

As they are all around my age now they do understand. I don’t know how long they are here for but I’m keeping my head down whilst this glorious weather holds good.

Listening to the news is still totally riveting...and it’s cool in my house....it has thick walls. Yesterday having a cup of tea with my gardener in the summer house he reported back on the villages annual invasion.  The one thing that local people don’t understand is why our visitors always walk in the road in St Mawes...I never take my car down there during this busy period so I do sympathise. But it’s just the price we pay for living in this gloriously beautiful place.

I shall not be going far during this busy period...and there’s quite enough news to keep me absorbed.  Thank you God.
