This morning I am going to the dentist.....arghhhh.... Oddly I am being taken to the dentist...being collected, delivered and returned home....with my smile not quite back in place. What makes this really weird is that the man who is taking me was my dentist for years, now retired and he knows me well enough to know that I am a total coward at the sight of a white coat on a man with pliers in his hand. Arghhh!
So I shouldn’t be surprised that he’s volunteered to provide transport. I am very grateful and he has explained everything I need to know and probably quite a lot that I don’t...so off we go....I am told that this is only a preliminary visit...to make way for the new tooth next time.
"Making way" are the words that are worrying...so I am glad my old dentist is making sure I get there safely...
At my age it seems a little daft to go to all this trouble just so I can smile at people without frightening them....but I suppose vanity is a persuasive thing. So shortly off we go...there will be lots of kind words spoken but he knows me well enough to get tough if he has to....along the lines of. "Oh come on Jean, you know it’s got to be done so just let’s get on with it! "
Deep breath. I can do this....and I’ll try not to think that dentists are ganging up on me...I am grateful. Honestly....erm.

It will be worth it in the end.
By now you will have had this treatment so will know what was done and what is to come when you are fitted with the crown.
You will be able to smile again. Making sure that the Crown is coloured to match your remaining teeth or it will look out of place. Which might be considered worse by you than having a gap.
As they say on South East Trains into London "Mind the Gap" :)
