Friends!

I am seeing the dentist this morning...she is not well liked in the village but hasn’t been here for very long so I’m perfectly happy to see what she can do for me and my smile. Last night I went out with my old dentist and his family and within minutes I’d forgotten the new space in my mouth and just laughed and chatted with no awareness of any embarrassment. Either with them or me...

I am hoping that an artifial tooth can be put in place but have no idea if this is possible. Everyone warns me that she is very expensive but this doesn’t bother me too much....if she manages to fill the gap!

Local people warn me that the village is absolutely full right now and to set out early...parking could be the main problem!

August in Cornwall is a bit of a nightmare for those of us who live here and I would normally stay well clear of busy villages....but on this occasion I have just got to get on with it!

No one last night mentioned the gap in my mouth but they were all old friends so they wouldn’t. It is very weird meeting people I’ve known and loved for forty odd years and  now learn to readjust to their growing families....it  reminds me that I’m much too old now...

They took the news that I have now retired from the church with some scepticism.  None of them go to church much but whilst they are here they would pop in to an occasional church service   if they knew I’d be there....   I have invited the entire group, about ten of them to come here to the house if they want to see me particularly.   As they are all sailors they would only arrive if the weather turned bad.  I think I’m safe!   Being Aunty Jean to several young people is no problem....I would value their input no matter what it is.   I hope.
