It’s dark and damp outside this morning so this is the day for tackling the printer! The last time I tried to print something it failed...it said it was printing but it wasn’t. It was a morning of frustration and I checked everything, leads, ink, etc....it all seemed fine....but it just didn’t print. So on that occasion I found a way round it....and felt relief that I no longer need to print off a sermon once a week
But I now have some deadlines coming up when I do need to be able to print off various things for my next cruise. This means that if I fail to persuade it to cooperate I may have to send for another printer....my present one is about five years old which in computer terms makes it ancient!
I am gearing up now for both retirement and my adventures on the sea. It’s too soon to start packing yet...but my mind is already sorting out what is involved the next time I set off to sail around the world. The next trip is quite local....just down to the the Canaries and back...but I still need to have all the right bits of paper with me.
My emails from Cunard have started to arrive with all the details I need to do. For the first time I am thinking about using a travel agent and letting them do all this... I have never had this thought before but it has started to feel sensible now and if I have another messy morning trying to to get all my ducks in a row then I may decide to use the agent that my friend Michael used who are still sending me letters!
There’s plenty of time...I’m not feeling the pressure....yet. I really hope that I won’t be screaming by lunch time! Arghhhhh!

Printers can be a bind. Which is why I stick to a simple one, which prints black and white only and is connected by Cable. No Wireless connection for me.
I have an much older colour printer, which ran out of toner years ago, and the toner is so expensive I decided that it wasn't economic to continue with it. I keep it because it has a flat bed A4 scanner which is very useful for those times I need to scan a document to email for some purpose.
I will get rid of it eventually, but for now, it fulfils a purpose, just taking up desk space.
As for the cruise, I hope that you are able to get your papers printed without actually hitting the printer with a hammer from frustration.
