Happy?

Listening to the news this morning I am struck by how miserable it all is.   There’s not much good going on in the world right now by the sound of it.   So just for the record...I am happy.

New visitors arrive  today...  people I see maybe a couple of times a year...it will be lovely to catch up and I’m looking forward to seeing them.  I have my heating turned on after a couple of cold days...all is working well....so far.

In past years keeping my house warm during the winter months has been a problem so getting up to warm radiators is just wonderful.

I have not as yet done much packing for the next cruise. Just getting the suitcase situation sorted has taken some time so when my new one arrived yesterday the first thing I put in was a nightie.   I will always remember the trip when I’d forgotten my sleeping gear and I had to go to the shop on board to buy a huge men’s tee shirt to sleep in...much to the amusement of my cabin steward!

So that’s my packing started....I’ll have to get on with it once my various visitors have gone...but this is all part of the joy....as we are traveling south this time , light summer clothes are needed so as  it’s still warm here I already have summery gear out and ready for packing..

Brexit, Boris, Trump, Meghan...al the headlines of the day make me want to simply hide....is anyone happy...apart from me? I am glad I’m an old woman...much of what is forecast will happen after I’ve gone....to wherever I’m going...  but not yet...I hope..

Yes the news is all doom and gloom and arguments. Perhaps its time for a cruise for everyone timed to return after 31st October when we will either be out with a deal or out without a deal - at least the PM tells us so?

Many of those who voted leave have changed their mind, which might show up in an election which will follow, where we are told that we will be given a choice to approve either going or leaving, which might be a bit late.

And the vision of Mr Farage on the steps of 10 Downing Street seems ever closer. If that happens, I will migrate to Scotland where my ancesters come from, as they will be independent if a no deal goes through.
