Dark and gloomy out side this morning...and it’s blowing....my friends will be very pleased that their boats were all pulled out of the sea this week. Last night I visited some of them in their holiday home . Ropes, flags, all the trappings of boat ownership littered the ground . Stepping over it all was difficult and once again I remembered why I’d got rid of my last boat and was glad.
It is wonderful to go out to sea in a small boat and I enjoyed it about ten years ago! Now it’s safer to sit daintily on the sea wall and cheer them on from a distance...
After this weekend they will all go home for the winter. One or two friends have homes here so they will still arrive from time to time..
Trying to persuade some locals that I’m not lonely at all never seems to be believed...but I’m not. I am in fact looking forward to some quiet time...
Walking around my huge garden is a winter joy and takes the place of walking the deck on various ships.
Keeping up my body strength is important now....although I’m not as agile as I once was.
The dreadful weather currently throwing massive amounts of rain at my window will ensure I don’t go out on a whim... staying warm at home seems an excellent idea whilst listening in growing dismay to various politicians holding forth.
I was sent a banner to display in my car....it reads. " Love Cornwall ,,Stop Brexit" . I might display it at some stage...but my days of any sort of political statement are over I think. But if I get bored and the wind drops it might happen!

I think that its too late to stop Brexit, much as many people want it.
The shenanigans in Parliament apart, many people that I talk to are just frustrated that we have made such a mess of it. I fail to understand how so called professional politicians who represent us can be so clearly incompetent and unable to find a consensus.
I believe that we need a general election to clear out many of them, particularly Boris and his so called adviser Dominic Cummings, who is the scruffiest adviser I have ever seen.
Labour have Momentum and the Tories have the ERG and the gang who have done everything possible to wreck the brexit decisions. They all need to go.
A government of national unity is needed, which must not include the current leaders of any of the main parties, as they have signally failed to lead with commonsense and compassion.
In the meantime, the country is in the doll drums with no real legislation or action to address the real issues that people care about. Business, Jobs, Welfare, Social Care and our wonderful NHS.
