Alleluia. My car is home. It didn’t cost me the usual arm and leg....just a big toe! Having said that I have yet to get behind the wheel and start it . I am assuming that all is well as it was driven here fo me yesterday. I will get behind the wheel soon but right now the sound of machinery is hitting the spot. My gardener is cutting the grass! This means that I’ve made sure I have the bank notes ready to pay him...otherwise I would even now be speeding to the village.
Listening to the radio as I always do first thing in the morning there is nothing to cheer me up right now. Every time anyone mentions the B word these days I just groan. Half the country wants to leave but the other half wants to stay. This is a situation where it is impossible to please the half that doesn’t get its way. Someone has pushed a poster through my door to put in my car. It says, "Love Cornwall. Stop Brexit." Says it all really but I can’t drive around with it on display...
Us priests try very hard not to hold political views or at any rate have them on display...but this isn’t really political is it? It is right in the middle of the road...but I do want Brexit to stop. Sooner rather than later! It has divided the whole country and not on party lines. I have no firm views on leaving or staying....it’s the made up word Brexit which offends me. Arghhhh!

A big tow costs a big toe!
Glad the car is OK and relatively cheaply (although sacrificing a big toe for it seems a little extreme?
In other contexts politics is also not on show for the Reader category as we like to speak and to listen to all sides of a debate, while contributing simply as a listener who can see both sides of a story, but not adopting a stance one way or another. I believe that is is described as sitting on a fence, but perhaps safer than arguing about the rights and wrongs, in the case of brexit, both sides lied and were not straight with people. And David Cameron who caused the issue, is now richer as his book has been published.
Eton has a lot to answer for :(
