Packing!

This is the last day before I set off for foreign parts.  I am more or less packed now but getting it all ready to go is always tricky once the bags are too heavy for me to move easily.  So today is sorting out the house , leaving everything safe, emptying the fridge etc....
The thought keeps returning though that this could well be my last time.  I am too used to it all now having done it lots of times before. Even the cruise is repeating the one I did last Christmas. Last year  it  was very good, I made some lovely friends and am still in touch with one or two of them who are not going to be on board this time.  It doesn’t take me long to find people to chat to....I’m not worried about being lonely....but I am still feeling that this could well be my last Christmas afloat. Staying home wouldn’t be a problem.
But rushing around checking everything is in the right place is today’s activity.   The lost case is still lost but I’ve packed a large hold-all instead.  In my head I will be going over everything still to do several times...but I am very confident right now that I’ve done most of it...so here I am still in bed listening to the radio and wondering how on Earth we got ourselves into this current political mess.  Even Mr Helestines voice was a soothing help this morning....he must be wondering how on earth his country has got itself into this position! I am trying not to think about any of it...but it will be interesting to chat on board and find out how other people are reacting to our Prime Minister.
Last year I talked to lots of Americans who were very wary about talking about Mr Trump openly so this year it’s our turn...   Boris and Trump will make for some very interesting conversations I’m sure.
So up I get....on with the motley....what ever that might be!   Ok!

I hope that your journey to the Ship goes well and that you have not forgotten anything vital, including the 30+ Ball Gowns.

I am still tempted by a cruise, but my spouse is opposed for some reason, so it is unlikely that we will attempt one in the near future. So, I will live vicariously wondering about what antics you get up to.

Hopefully, you might be able to make one or two blog posts to give us the flavour of things, particularly as you have done this many times and you can points us towards "what not to do on a cruise".

Praying for your journey as we languish in a cold, damp, newly changed reality in the poor UK.
