Huawei?

You have to admire the commentators on the radio for the way they have got their tongues around Huawei. It crops up fairly frequently just now and they have clearly discussed its pronunciation. I suspect some lessons in Chinese may be necessary soon. Our natural allies in the world have so far been English speaking. Our talent for going out and setting up new patches of English speaking people all over the world has served us well in these modern times. America, Australia , New Zealand are all English speaking which has made broadcasting much easier for us. But now the Chinese have advanced into the prime spot around the world...plus we want them as friends rather than enemies obviously. Over the last few days we have heard the German voices discussing events during the last war....but mostly the news broadcasts are in English. What we will do if we have to start learning Chinese does not bear thinking about. The state of the world right now is clearly poised for change. Us old people are not good with radical change. We struggle to keep up . So far I think I’m keeping abreast with the news...but I’m not sure about 5G. 4G was difficult to achieve here miles from anywhere. I will be reluctant to attempt anything new. But if I live long enough I’ll get on with it if and when it happens...but I draw the line at learning Chinese. My school girl French is only just adequate, I can’t imagine how hard it could be to learn a new language. But so far English will do. And by the time Chinese becomes the universal language I will not need to learn it up there on my cloud. Or down below as the case might be! Oh dear!

I am unsure about all of the speculation about possible breaches of security, particularly as my internet broadband and wifi are provided by a device managed by that company for the last three years. So far, the only breakdown has signal dropping, which is down to my provider.

My eldest granddaughter is back from a 9month sojourn in South Korea, where I believe she was exposed to the language(s) spoken there. Not sure I will understand her if she uses any of them on me?
