Last days in the snow!
Nearing the end of this journey we ran into snow last night. Snow in the middle of the Atlantic....this morning I found the life boat I’ve lived with on my balcony white . It’s. weird world out t here this morning. In here it’s all smiles as we prepare for getting home...but there are still a few days to go...lectures to attend, meals to ear, new people to talk to as well as long established mates...
There is a general air of around not quite relief but we have had several people taken off to be helicoptered to the nearest hospital. Which from the middle of the sea is quite a long way away. This trip has not been dull! But mostly for all the wrong reasons...but I shall be glad to get home at the end of the week! I hope it’s not snowing when we teach Southampton....that could create some havoc! We have had good lectures. And this morning we have one by a ex special detective. This will be interesting...after which I will go for a sit on the top deck and look out to sea whilst a young man brings me a drink...so it’s not all bad news!
The snow outside is lending an air of quiet weirdness. People are trying to walk the decks in it....so I hope the doctor is on red alert! I have enjoyed most of this but in my head it’s still my last one...I think....we shall see!
