Strange world.

What a strange world we are living in. I admit to being relieved to be living in almost solitary state. The steps being taken to stop this new virus is extraordinary. How does a new virus get itself so feared so quickly? Once again I am glad to be an old woman. My small world feels safe...so far! but I hear the bad news with some surprise. The weather continues awful. Rain is beating against my window but the wind seems to have dropped a little. I do have people arriving later today. Local news about fallen trees has reached me via Facebook of all things. So I must send out this news to anyone trying to get here. I will not go out today unless I really have to. I have enough food and drink to last for a week if necessary. We shall see. The people I’m expecting today are coming from up country...I have no idea how the roads are coping just now. It’s not a prime travelling month. Which is I suppose why it’s some people’s choice. Once I get out of bed I’ll try to go outside to see how things are. Yesterday two steps were all I managed . I might get further today! But if I don’t it really doesn’t matter. We shall see. So I am ready! Coping with whatever gets thrown in my direction is my usual state...it’s my choice to live in solitary state. But it’s hard to explain this to some of my friends. I put my polo neck jumper and thick pants out last night...keeping warm is essential. I hope my Heating oil can cope!

Good that you are keeping safe. It is pretty nasty out there, with more to come. If you visitors are unable to reach you, you might be relieved, at least they will also be safe.

Hoping you are able to get to see if any damage has been done, but no doubt your Gardener will be able to sort it out.
