Stay at home.

Still waiting for some good news. But there’s not much at all. Communication is mostly by phone...several longish conversations yesterday cheered me but I do have to emphasise the fact that this state of affairs is not unusual for me. I am used to being on my own. Today I have to sort out my fridge...several left overs need to be converted to soup today. I am good at soup providing I have enough stock cubes. I think it’ll be alright. I am not short of food and have another delivery due at the weekend..thank goodness. What ever the rest of the world is making of all this I can not imagine but the British spirit of courage and not being beaten by a bug is carrying us forward in reasonably good heart. My garden is full of blossom just now...it’s very beautiful and yesterday I rembered what it was like when we moved in. It was a field still with cows on it when we came to look at it. There were two trees, an enormous horse chestnut and a very weedy looking palm tree. All the other seventy odd trees were put in by me and the gardener who did most of the digging! But remembering their size when they were planted I am astonished now by how huge they have grown in just a few years! We don’t get bad frosts though the wind is a problem at times. But most of the trees are now well over my head and have grown in beauty as well as girth. It’s still very quiet outside...odd walkers do occasionally go past though...a few cars have passed but it really s very quiet out there...long may it continue and I applaud the repeated request. "Stay at home and save the NHS." Hurray..yes...let’s do that!

You seem to be in good heart and good fettle as I remember a Lancashire girl saying to me years ago. I understand the term relates to Horses, but still if seems to describe you as a Lancashire lass, stranded in Cornwall, albeit the most beautiful part of it.

Sure you have enough food and that fact that you are managing to get a delivery is also good. We have tried and failed to do that, so ventured out yesterday early and managed to do a Supermarket shop, which will keep us going for a while. The local shop is fine, but its range doesn't include enough fresh fruit for our needs.

Still praying for your continuing health and well being.
