Staying safe.
This week has been busy down here...but what has been interesting has been the sight of a huge cruise liner in Falmouth. From my seat in the sitting room Falmouth is clearly visible...it’s just across the water. All sorts of boats are visible right through the year but such a huge ship is unusual. So naturally I’ve been keeping my eye on it. It is huge and all the rows of windows are the clue that it has room for very many passengers. I thought it was on the move last night so I got out the binoculars. It did shift a bit but then settled down close to where it has now spent several nights. I know that Cunard has cancelled several cruises this year and I assume that the others have also decided not to risk it. So it’s a good opportunity to get all the maintainence jobs done. I’ve checked...it’s still there this morning...but as it’s sitting on the main pier it must be an annoyance to the locals. I can’t imagine too many cruises are being taken right now. I am perfectly content with my own company and the only conversations I’ve had have all been on the phone. But I am glad that the internet gives me people to chat to...to play games with, and to shop with! My biggest problem with shopping on line is still the cardboard boxes to jump on...however it’s all keeping me alive and well. Thank you God.

I thought all Cruise ships were put into mothballs around the Country, I know that one company put four into a Scottish Port with a skeleton crews on each.
Not sure why you have one there, but I did notice adverts in the papers, but booking for 2022? Obviously not a lot of expectation for 2020 or 2021?
The World, which is the only residential cruise ship of her type, has arrived in Falmouth this morning. The ship was previously bunkered in Gibraltar and has been slow-steaming to Falmouth over the last week. She is now expected to lay up in the port for some months. There are no passengers onboard news item I found online.
Thank you for that...I’ll keep my binoculars ready!
