Soap powder?

Years ago now I found myself sensitive to various substances that caused allergic reactions . It wasn’t always sneezing...I also itched badly at times. A visit to the doctor revealed a skin allergy. He gave me lots of advice on how to avoid the worst of it which included not using biological washing powder. When David and I got married the itchy rashes returned and I found the soap powder was definitely to blame. After that I made sure that I always bought non bio soap powder. This has worked well until recently when I ran out of it. Right now I’m not going out to the shops obviously so I looked on line for a non bio soap powder. And found that Persil did one...so I sent off for it, not wanting the extreme itch back in my life. The packet came yesterday. I took it in without realising what the very large brown cardboard packaging contained. And after I’d got it free I was astonished..to find the biggest box of soap powder I’ve ever seen. Standing about four foot tall it is too heavy to pick up so I pushed it across the kitchen floor to stand in the laundry room. It really is enormous. It will last for ever...it’ll certainly see me out. I had no idea such huge packets of soap powder existed...but it won’t set my allergies off again...fingers crossed....and everything else! So OK. But it won’t stand on any shelves it’s too big for that ..it will have to remain free standing. And huge! Life in this lock down isn’t dull!

Another surprise, coupled with your computer problems a couple of days with allergies as well.

I know that I too have an allergy to biotiic washing powder so we use a more basic one, Surf, which is normal and has worked for some years. Sadly, it is short in supply locally, so we have to resort to a wholesale outlet for getting it, in large containers like yours. But manageable for us.

It lasts a long while, so perhaps only two a year needed.
