Going well!
Yesterday went well. The young man who turned up to help me get my IT problems sorted out was excellent. He has rearranged my IT articles and sent for a cable to enable him to sort out the new Ipad. That should get here today. Hopefully. In the meanwhile I am able to blog, to do everything I need to do on my old ipad. So all is well. I have to ring him when the cable arrives. ...My old friend will get here later and I shall be glad to see him. He has his own home here so I dont have to entertain him but it will be good to have a friendly face around. I am not sure which of the local pubs and hotels are now open but I expect to find out soon. So life will not be in isolation for a few days...I have to rejoin the human race. I can do this. I have now switched on my heating so the house is nice and warm. Its very early I know but I am enjoying going round feeling the hot radiators! Living here is never like it was when I lived in Essex. The very cold days do happen but dont last for months...just days. So life is starting to feel good again. This latest episode will cost me in financial terms but hopefully it will all be worth it eventually. Fingers crossed!

Good morning Jean. So pleased that things are so positive particularly concerning iPads! Hope you enjoy the visit of your old friend and perhaps a pub lunch?
I too have put my heating on - just early morning and a couple of hours in the evening. It’s a symptom of my increasing years!!
Raining here currently but will hopefully stop before I need to go out.
Enjoy your day
It is good that your IT problems are nearly resolved. It must have been very frustrating for you as this has gone on for ages. My SD in his eighties who was computer avoiding was given one a few years ago, and he adapted quickly to it, but I miss the hand written letters that he used to send, I looked forward to them. He is in Canterbury and I am in North Kent, so over 100 mile return journey to see him. I am meeting him for the first time since March early in November, but we've kept in touch via email and phone during the lockdown. He sometimes ministers at the Cathedral (he was a Canon there before he retired). He was widowed over 10 years ago, and last year moved from his five bedroom house into a 2 bed flat five minutes walk from the Cathedral, and is loving it. A very able Priest and a steadfast support to me since 2008.
I hope that your success with IT continues and that you enjoy the visit from your friend as you reenter the rounds of being out and about. Prayers for that to be enjoyable and sustaining.
